May 2001 - Amcor commences construction on bottle plant
Amcor commenced construction of its new wine bottle facility
at Gawler in South Australia. The Premier of South Australia,
The Hon. John Olsen MP attended the ground breaking ceremony.
The new plant is designed to produce premium wine bottles.
The plant is expected to be completed in July 2002 and willl
produce in excess of 200 million wine bottles per year. Upon
completion, this facility and the technology it encorporates
will be one of the most sophisticated in the world.
After reciving the contract for work at the bottle plant
from Leighton Contractors Pty Ltd, Delnote Constructions has
been involved in all areas of concrete construction with this
project. By providing the highest standards in concrete work,
formwork and reinforcing we have provided a strong foundation
for the project. Delnote was involved in the construction
of the Anneling and Workshop Building, the Batch Plant, the
Cullet Storage, the Utilities Building and many other sundry
works.
The labor contract value of the project was worth $1.3M
